The plasma torpedo is a viciously unstable projectile: Protostellar plasma barely confined in a guidance shell that delivers damage on impact. Unfortunately, the energy bleed-off necessary to keep the warhead from destabilizing completely saps damage depending on the distance the torpedo travels to reach its target. Torpedoes explode on impact, and are not affected by jamming or point defense systems.
