Galaxy age is a galaxy setup element.
- Young galaxies tend to be organic-rich, meaning that you'll have more habitable and oceanic worlds, but lower mineral classes across the board.
- Average galaxies have a mix of habitable worlds and mineral-rich, desolate planets.
- Old galaxies tend to have few habitable worlds and lots of barren, but mineral-rich planets.
Impact
- The choice of galaxy age does have an impact on the viability of certain races. For example, in Battle at Antares, aquatic races like Trilarians will be effectively hamstrung, as their special racial pick will be all but useless in a galaxy filled with dead worlds. Choose accordingly.
